XOXO

Charlie has turned into a little hug-a-bunch these days. He will come up out of nowhere and hug me. He usually rests his head on my back or gives me a big squeeze around the neck. I am crying as I type this because it just means so much to know that he understands what it feels like to love someone and want to show them affection. Sure, he will kiss Elmo and hug a teddy bear if I ask him to, but that does not mean he understands the feelings behind those gestures. To get a hug out of the blue from Charlie is like the best thing that I could have ever imagined. He may throw his food, pull my hair, and test my patience a hundred times a day, but he loves me. As cliche as it might be, that little hug really does make up for the tough times.

What a sweet boy you have!! We are trying to teach Ellie hug right now. I can't wait until I'm getting hugs like that from her!
